Little Italy Festival

Little Italy Festival

August 29 -September 1, 2008
Clinton, Indiana
For four fun-filled days each Labor Day Weekend since 1966, some 75,000 visitors of all ages join in celebrating the culture that helped to build the community.   Nearly two hours’ parade leads to the beautiful Wabash Riverfront midway for free on-stage entertainment, carnival rides, games from Italian mini-golf to salami roulette, contests from costume to spaghetti eating, and 100+ vendors from arts to terrific Italian eats. The nearby 1904 C&EI passenger depot houses both a railway museum and one of the few coal museums in the nation, with its full-scale mine walk-through and vintage film of mule-powered mining.   Open-air shuttle to our picturesque Ninth Street "Little Italy" to visit a 1924 Italian home, learn old-days‘ winemaking, and purchase unique goods at the Italian store. Next door, experience our “don't-miss” vine-roofed wine garden full of Italian music, dance, food, fun, friends, and, of course, vino. Children welcome until 5:30 p.m.; live polka bands after.   You'll also want to "stompa de grapes", catch the classic car show, buy chances on an Italian vacation, and watch the Indiana State Bocce Championships. From grand parade open to spectacular fireworks close, you'll find plenty to do at Little Italy Festival.
Hours : Fri. 5 - 11 p.m.; Sat & Sun 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.; Mon. 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
