Every year, thousands of people pour into Ferdinand to visit the unique Christkindlmarkt Heritage Markets. These markets, which are the result of a concept beginning in 14th century Germany, feature lavishly decorated booths spilling over with Christmas wares, antiques and handcrafts of exemplary quality, delicious regional food and wine, live entertainment, a free concert, free tours of the Monastery Immaculate Conception, free shuttle service and so much more! The Christkindlmarkt operates are four sites: the Ferdinand Community Center (East 18th Street), Forest Park Jr./Sr. High School (14th and Vienna Drive), the Ferdinand American Legion (425 Main Street) and the Antiques Markt at the new Tri-County YMCA on the Ferdinand Community Center campus (131 E. 16th Street). All markt sites will be open from 9 am to 5 pm EST on Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm EST on Sunday.
