Pre-1840 time period event - potrays the time period before the Potawatomi Indians were removed from this area in 1838 on the Trail of Death Removal. Historic camps from French & Indian War, Rev. War, Voyageurs, Western Fur Trade and Chippeway Village. Foods cooked over wood fires, music & dance on 2 stages, Indian dances at 2 p.m. each day. Portrayals of Fur traders, Ben Franklin and Johnny Appleseed are included in the programs. Dances from Aztec Dancers to frontier frolic. Muzzleloading shooting contests, native american storytellers and other time-period demonstrations happening all day. Something for all ages - step back into time and learn how our ancestors lived. Hours 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admissions $6 adult, $2 child (age 6-11), five and under free.
