"Original Wire Art"
I have performed from the rocky mountains to the eastern sea board, in
hundreds of cities and towns. I have won awards in Marquette MI. for best of
show, Madison IN. for most creative art, Whiting IN. for most original art,
to name a few. My goals are to teach young or old wire sculpting, to
design/compose and most of all to demonstrate with hands on techniques at
every show. Children, especially love the one on one contact with the wire
and are very proud of what they have accomplished.
My specialties include five designs of wine holders, four designs of candle
holders, large and small mobiles, squirrel feeders, bird nesters (children
love to do these), flower pot holders, hummingbird feeders, and now I am in
the process of incorporating copper, glass, and clay with my work. I have
been designing and bending wire for six years. All my designs start with a
spiral, a continuous circle until its cut(a spiral represents infinity).
As the years have gone by I have found my strength and love in touching
lives of others through the love I have in teaching my wire sculpting.
Artist Quote " I found the wire to be my therapist, my sanity and my love.
Teaching and performing wire sculpting has become my way to touch lives and
hearts of many". Contact Information: Barbara Alberts 15381 S. 1080 W.

BLEND is the a cappella doo-wop group bringing back hits from the 50’s and
60’s. The show that they put on is not your everyday concert. You will be
amazed as these four young men take the stage to entertain your audience
with comical skits and special guest appearances by the Duke of Earl and the
leader of the 60’s hit group the Dixie Cups. BLEND even takes entertaining
a step further by adding the staged character of STAGGER LEE. Stagger Lee
plays the part of a 50’s character that is lost in the ages of the Doo-Wop
era. With Blends help they make him feel like he is right at home! The
audience will leave from your event feeling like a part of the show!!!
BLEND is not the type of group to stay on a stage. They realize that the
fans are what make a show. With every show, Blend reserves a special
section to give thanks to the LORD with their favorite Southern Gospel style
hymns. Contact: Johnathan Estes, PO Box 157, Energy, IL 62933 Phone:

Knightsmen
|
"The Knightsmen" are an oldies band in the truest sense. These musicians
were one of the original Indiana garage bands that performed together in
high school in the mid to late 60's. The band specialized in hit songs by
the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Rascals, Wilson Pickett, Beach Boys, Sam &
Dave, Mitch Ryder, Moody Blues, Roy Orbison, Cream, Paul Revere and the
Raiders and more. After hearing live performances of the Knightsmen, Scott
"Records" Roddy of local oldies radio station WIAU 95.9 stated: "You guys
really rock!!" "I'm really impressed." Being named the winner of the "Battle
of the Bands" in Indianapolis during the summer of 1968 highlighted the
early years of the band. In 2006, the band said farewell to original band
members Don Lee and Tom Rea as they pursue new avenues in their lives. The
band is again on the move and played at the Independence Day Celebration on
July 4th at Hummel Park in Plainfield, Indiana for the 3rd year in a row.
They also performed for their 3rd year at the Indiana State Fair on Friday,
August 18th and the Marion County Fair on Friday, July 28th. Be sure to
check our web site for upcoming performance dates and to book us for your
next event or festival!

M.K. Jean Blacksmithing

Click a photo below to see Mike in action!

I have been a blacksmith since 1990. My
Grandfather was a blacksmith in Alabama and so was my great uncle Vic. Uncle
Vic's tools are still on display at the Barney Mining Museum in Walker Co.
Alabama.
I was the smithy for Billie Creek Village, Rockville, IN for six years and
was voted by the visiting school teachers as the best children exhibitor 5
years running. I have smithed for the Van Wert, OH Historical Society; the
Paulding, OH Steam and Tractor Show; The Ohio Folk Festival (Good Will
Organization), Dayton OH; Wind River Reservation in Riverton, WY and from
1996 to 1999 Six Flags over Mid-America's County Fair at St. Louis, MO. I
regularly demonstrate my skills and love for blacksmithing at the annual
bridge festival in Parke County, IN. I have done several school
demonstrations in Sullivan, IN, Attica, IN, and elsewhere. One of my big
draws at these events is stamping children's names on horseshoes. I am
basically self taught but have had help from other smithing friends when a
problem has been too tough for me to figure out on my own. I mainly
concentrate on keeping the craft alive and demonstrating it for the public.
Entertaining the children and "older" children is more important than making
a large profit. I try to make a majority of my products right on site during
my shows, giving the public a greater feel of what I do as a blacksmith.
This allows me to make custom made items as they watch. One favorite
demonstration is making a wizard face. The most important thing to me at an
event is that everyone goes home with memories of good times. We practice
the new 3R's; Respect yourself, Respect others and take Responsibility for
your actions. We also offer for sale new iron kettles like grandma's in
capacities of 2.5 to 19.5 gallons plus other interesting merchandise. For

Ward’s Copper Shop
 |
At a young age Tom learned from his Father the skills needed for
creating items from metal.
The tools he uses today were passed down to him from his father and are
considered to be very valuable due to their age. Tom’s father purchased the
tools from a retired metal worker in 1942. Tools of this kind are not being
manufactured today. Tom has continued to be interested in making by hand
beautiful pieces from sheets of solid copper. The workmanship is heirloom
quality and Tom’s wish is that festival attendees will enjoy and care for
his work as much as he enjoys creating his pieces.
Now that Tom is retired he and his wife, Sherry, are looking forward to
creating and presenting his work together. Traveling and meeting new people
as they showcase Tom’s skills are some of the many benefits they hope to
enjoy. All of Tom’s one of a kind items are hand made and polished to
perfection. Any one of his creations will endure the test of time and will
become an heirloom to be passed down through generations.
